Your tasks

Development and conduct of own PhD project in the area of Comparative Politics

Support the research, teaching and consulting activities at the chair (albeit teaching and administrative obligations are minimal)

Participation in the doctoral programme “International Affairs & Political Economy”, which offers advanced methodological and substantive training;

Your profile

Master's degree in political science or a related social science discipline (you may apply with a nearly completed degree)

Motivation to pursue academic career and interest in theory-driven empirical research

Advanced knowledge of social science research methods

Excellent written and spoken English language skills, good command of the German language is an asset.

The research group of Comparative Politics held by Prof. Tina Freyburg at the School of Economics and Political Science of the University of St. Gallen invites highly motivated researchers to apply for a PhD Position.

The positions offer the possibility to write a Ph.D. thesis in a young and strongly research-oriented department. Successful candidates will benefit from the excellent research conditions and a stimulating academic environment at the School of Economics and Political Sciences. The thematic orientation of the new position is open; ideally, the future team member would work on a theme related to ongoing research at the chair.

The starting date is negotiable. The position would be limited to 4 years. We accept applications on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
