PhD Position in Optical Spectroscopy of Quantum Nanomaterials at the SinglePhoton/Phonon Level
100%, Zurich, fixed-termprint Drucken
A PhD position is available in the Functional Inorganic Material group (Kovalenko lab) at ETH Zurich (Department of Chemistry and Applied Biosciences).
Job descriptionThe research activities involve comprehensive characterization of new perovskite-based nanomaterials, in the form of single quantum dots or superlattices, their optoelectronic properties and the development of a new generation of nanomaterial-based nanophotonic devices that operate down to the single-photon level.
State-of-the-art optical characterization methods including micro- photoluminescence experiments will be employed to characterize the optical properties of single quantum dots and the statistics of the emitted photons. Ab-initio (DFT) molecular-dynamic simulations will be used to guide and interpret the experimental results.
