Job description The PhD candidate will focus on developing and demonstrating integrated tools in an energy application as the shared platform for citizens that stimulates long-term engagement and empowerment in the energy transition. The application provides informed and reliable instruction and feedback to citizens about optimal home energy management through research on persuasive and inclusive serious game design, coupled with artificial intelligence techniques, energy models, and input from smart meter data.
Qualifications We seek a highly motivated candidate with a deep interest in the energy transition as a socio-technical challenge and behaviour change by applying gamification. We are especially interested in interdisciplinary scholars with a human-computer interaction background and programming skills.
Offer
We offer a temporary position (1.0 FTE) for one year in an international working environment. After positive evaluation, this can be turned into position of four years. The gross salary ranges between €2,541 in the first year and €3,247 in the fourth year of employment (scale P according to the Collective Labour Agreement Dutch Universities) per month for a full-time employment. Salaries are supplemented with a holiday bonus of 8% and a year- end bonus of 8.3% per year.
