ContextThe recruited phd student will work in the MAGNET project team.
AssignmentAssignments : With the help of other researchers in the MAGNET team, the recruited person willcomplete several projects in progress started by Arijus Pleska, in particular (a) a research contribution on decentralized algorithms without handshakes, (b) a research contribution on optimizing differential privacy towards the needs of specific application domains and (c) a PhD dissertation based on these two contributions.
For a better knowledge of the proposed research subject we recommend to read the publications and presentations given by Arijus Pleska in the MAGNET team.
Collaboration : The recruited person will be in connection with other researchers who will review the projects and propose improvements.
Responsibilities : The person recruited is responsible for completing research results and integrating them in a PhD dissertation.

A good understanding of English is required, together with excellent writing skills.
It is important to have a good understanding of probability and statistics, and the basics of graph theory,

Instruction to applyDefence Security : This position is likely to be situated in a restricted area (ZRR), as defined in Decree No. 2011-1425 relating to the protection of national scientific and technical potential (PPST).Authorisation to enter an area is granted by the director of the unit, following a favourable Ministerial decision, as defined in the decree of 3 July 2012 relating to the PPST. An unfavourable Ministerial decision in respect of a position situated in a ZRR would result in the cancellation of the appointment.
