Job descriptionYou will develop physics-based theoretical models (both analytic and computational) to understand and predict the properties of polymeric materials containing force-dependent dynamic crosslinks. The focus will be on connecting the characteristics of single catch bonds (bonds that become stronger when loaded) to the properties of polymer networks containing many of such dynamic bonds. Together, we aim to design and create highly tunable, responsive, and recyclable materials.
The project is part of the recently established Interactive Polymer Materials Research Center and will be carried out in the Soft Matter and Biological Physics group at the Department of Applied Physics, Eindhoven University of Technology, the Netherlands, under the supervision of profs. Wouter Ellenbroek and Kees Storm. Close collaboration with the groups of profs. Hans Heuts and Rint Sijbesma (Chemical Engineering and Chemistry) will be an essential element of the research project in order to maximize impact.
Job requirementsA meaningful job in a dynamic and ambitious university, in an interdisciplinary setting and within an international network. You will work on a beautiful, green campus within walking distance of the central train station. In addition, we offer you:
