This PhD project is being carried out within the framework of an ANR project 'Scientific Improvement on Ammonia Combustion'. The objective is to contribute to a detailed understanding of the mechanisms that take place during flame- turbulence interaction in the case of an ammonia or low hydrogen blend flame. From a spherical combustion chamber, in which a homogeneous and isotropic turbulence is generated, the propagation of the turbulent flame will be characterised by the least intrusive optical diagnostics possible. A detailed analysis of flame folding and local extinctions through interaction with turbulence will be characterised.

    Additional comments

An evaluation committee will examine the applications and select the candidates on the basis of criteria aimed at ensuring equal opportunities. The main selection criteria will be the match between the applicant's existing skills and expertise and the requirements mentioned above. The selection procedure will take place in 2 stages: first a shortlist of the best candidates, and then the final selection after an audition (organised in person or by video conference).
