Ph.D. Student position

Prof. Dr. Ilija Čorić's research group is looking for a Ph.D. Student candidate. The group performs research in two directions:

  • spatial anion control for mild and site-selective C–H activation (see J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2020 , 142 , 19040. and Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. 2022 , 61, e202205470.)
  • directional ionic bonds for supramolecular and materials chemistry (see J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2023 , doi: 10.1021/jacs.3c01030.)
  • Your responsibilities

    We are looking for candidates who would be interested in either of these topics. Depending on the selected focus, the PhD Student will be given an opportunity to gain experience in the design of catalysts and ligands, multistep organic synthesis, coordination chemistry (including synthesis of highly sensitive molecules), transition metal catalysis, supramolecular chemistry, and the chemistry of organic materials.

    Your profile

    Candidates must hold a Bachelor/Master in organic or inorganic chemistry and possess a good knowledge of English language.
