Project title: “Investigation of the MLK4 biology in breast cancer and search for new therapeutic strategies using innovative PROTAC compounds”

Project is carried out within the “Sonata Bis” programme of the National Science Centre.

Project description:

MLKs are serine/threonine kinases that play a vital role in cellular processes, including proliferation, differentiation, and migration of cells. We have recently proven that MLK3 and MLK4 are highly expressed in some carcinomas and contribute to the invasive phenotype of cancer cells. In our new project, we will evaluate the molecular mechanisms of MLKs action and look for ways of their inhibition.

Key responsibilities of candidates:

Perform experiments using biochemical and molecular biology techniques (independently and in collaboration with other team members and the supervisor);

Participate in experimental design, data analysis and data preparation;

Actively participate in lab meetings and scientific seminars.

Requirements of candidates:

Undergraduate student of medicine, biology, biotechnology or related fields of life sciences;

Familiarity with laboratory techniques is a benefit,

Very good command of English,

Motivation and passion for experimental work.
