Applications are invited to apply for an internship at the IMDEA Software Institute, Madrid, Spain under the supervision of Dr. Juan Caballero.
The internship will explore data collection and data analysis approaches for open source threat intelligence. Potential topics for the internship are on theat report analysis, deep Web, brand protection, and malware/cybercrime analysis. The internship will combine data collection, data analysis, and evaluation of the proposed approaches.
The internship results could be part of an academic publication and/or form the basis of a Bachelor or Master's thesis. Candidates that excel may be offered a PhD position.
Who should apply?Candidates should have an excellent MSc or BSc degree in computer science or a related discipline, or be in the process of obtaining one. Candidates should have an interest in threat intelligence, malware, and cybercrime, and a strong commitment to research. Python programming and tool building skills are required. Good command of English both spoken and written is required.
Working at IMDEA SoftwareThe position is based in Madrid, Spain, where the IMDEA Software Institute is situated. The institute provides for travel expenses and an internationally competitive stipend. The working language at the institute is English.
DatesThe ideal duration of the position is from 3 to 6 months. The tentative starting period is June 1, 2023, with some flexibility.
