At the Helmholtz Institute Freiberg for Resource Technology (HIF), innovative technologies for the circulareconomy are developed to provide and use mineral and metal-bearing rawmaterials more efficiently and to recycle them in an environmentally friendly way.
As part of the Institute, the Department of Processing invites applications as Engineer in the field of processing and recycling (f/m/d).
The position will be available at the earliest possible date. The employment contract is limited to three years within the framework of the "Zeitenwende" project.
Your tasks:Contribute to research topics in the areas of recycling, plant automation and digitalisation
Support experimental research work on pilot scale plants for comminution, sorting, sample preparation and product characterisation (on/offline)
Contribute to the development of evaluation routines for particle-based data
Support data evaluation, process modelling and simulation
Master´s degree or Diploma in Process Engineering, Mineral Processing, Recycling Technology or a related discipline
Basic knowledge of mechanical process engineering (e.g. crushing, grinding, sieving, air classifiers, hydrocyclones, magnetic separation, density sorting, eddy current separation)
Interest in development and improvement of test facilities for scientific research
Good language skills in German and English, both written and spoken
Independent, structured and solution-oriented way of working
Desirable: well-versed in handling of P&I flow diagrams and knowledge of LabVIEW
