Department of Forest Mycology and Plant Pathology This opportunity is offered by the Department of Forest Mycology and

Plant Pathology, located in Biocentrum Ultuna at SLU in Uppsala. Renowned for its dynamic research conducted both in the field and laboratory, our department focuses on the broader implications of climate change on agriculture and forestry.

Our Forest Pathology research group specifically dedicates its efforts to studying fungal pests that are economically and ecologically significant in Swedish forests. We promote close collaborations with industry and forest owners to promptly implement new research initiatives. Our team investigates the consequences of devastating outbreaks caused by forest pest fungi, utilizing advanced molecular biology methods and bioinformatics to analyze the intricate interactions among fungi, trees, and the environment. Our overarching goal is to comprehend the biology of these pests, predict their evolution, and identify vulnerabilities to effectively control and mitigate forest damage.
