Offer DescriptionA tender is open for the attribution of one Scholarship (master) within the scope of Project PRR - CO PRODUTOS (Ref: C644915664-00000026, financed through the PRR - Recovery and Resilience Plan and by the Next Generation EU European Funds, following NOTICE nº 02/C05-i01/2022- Mobilizing Agendas for Business Innovation, under the following conditions:
1.SCIENTIFIC AREA
Analytical Chemistry
2.ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
The candidate must hold a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field with an average of 16 or more and have proven experience in sample preparation techniques and liquid and gas chromatography.
3.DURATION
The scholarship will last for 6 months, scheduled to probably start in July of 2023, and eventually renewable in accordance with the project's objectives and its budget, it may be renewed for an equal period of up to 12 months.
4.PURPOSE OF ACTIVITY / WORK PLAN
Characterization, analysis, and valorization strategies for fish industry co- products. Sampling. Nutritional analysis and control of contaminants in coproducts. Determination of physical, chemical, and biological properties.
5.APPLICABLE LEGISLATION AND REGULATIONS
Research Fellowship Statute, approved by Law no. 40/2004, of 18 August; Regulation of Research Grants of the Foundation for Science and Technology, approved by Regulation no. 950/2019, published in the 2nd series - Part C, of the Diário da República, of December 16, 2019, Regulation of ISEP Research Grants, Decree-Law No. 66/2018, published in Diário da República No. 157/2018, Series I of 16 August, which approves the legal regime for the recognition of academic degrees and higher education diplomas awarded by foreign higher education institutions and Decree-Law No. 60/2018, of 3 August, which simplified administrative procedures necessary for carrying out research and development activities, all in their current wording.
6.SCIENTIFIC ORIENTATION AND WORKPLACE
The work will be developed at ISEP no Grupo de reação e Análises químicas (GRAQ), under the scientific guidance of Professors Valentina Domingues and Cristina Soares
7.MONTHLY MAINTENANCE ALLOWANCE
Monthly scholarship value: € 1199,64, paid by bank transfer (according to the Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia table of values: https:// www. fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores.phtml.pt), supported through the PAD's n.º C60020.
8.METHODS OF SELECTION AND JURY COMPOSITION
The assessment should focus on and consider the following criteria:
8.1 The selection method will be, in the first phase, by analysis of the Curriculum Vitae proving the above-mentioned areas, a motivation letter, and, in the final phase, if necessary, an interview with the 2 best-placed candidates in the first phase.
If none of the candidates does not prove experience in the above-mentioned areas, the respective scholarship may not be awarded.
The jury responsible for the selection process will consist of:
Professor Doctor, Cristina Delerue-Matos (responsible for the project at ISEP) (President);
Professor Doctor, Valentina F. Domingues (Member);
Professor Doctor, Cristina Soares (Member),
and as an alternate member Professor Doutor Virgínia Cruz Fernandes (Substitute member)
9.METHOD OF SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS
Applications must be formalized, obligatorily, by email sent to [email protected], by sending the following documents:
- Curriculum Vitae;
- Certificate of Qualifications / Document proving ownership of the academic degree and diploma, of the respective recognition when awarded by foreign higher education institutions or document proving the request for recognition;
- Proof of enrollment in study cycles leading or not leading to an academic degree (except BIPD); (edit based on admission requirements);
- Other supporting documents considered relevant.
If the qualification has been granted by a foreign higher education institution, it must comply with the provisions of Decreto-Lei No. 66/2018, of August 16, and any formalities established therein must be fulfilled by the time of hiring.
10.DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS
Applications are received from 23 May to 5 June 2023
11.METHOD OF ADVERTISING/NOTIFICATION OF RESULTS
The results of the evaluation will be announced via email, to the email address indicated in the application process.
12.CLAIM AND APPEAL PROCEDURES
If the result is unfavorable, the candidates have a period of 10 working days, after the disclosure of the results of the candidacy evaluation, to express their opinion, if desired, in the hearing of interested parties, under the terms provided for in the Code of Administrative Procedure.
A hierarchical appeal may be filed against the final decision referred to in the previous numbers, to the President of ISEP, within 15 working days after the respective notification.
13.SELECTION RESERVE
The ISEP reserves the right to appeal to unselected candidates, in order of ranking, to hire a scholarship holder for the same project if the initially selected candidate withdraws.
