We are looking for a flexible, enthusiastic and highly motivated DVM student to work on a European project, funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNF) in the framework of the European Joint Programming Initiative on Antimicrobial Resistance (JPIAMR). The JPIAMR project is focused on optimizing dosing levels of trimethoprim and sulfonamides in seven different animal species.

The working package that involves the DVM student concentrates on determining minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) for trimethoprim in combination with four selected sulfonamides.

Requirements:

  • Great interest in laboratory work
  • High degree of independence and personal responsibility
  • Excellent communication skills and curiosity
  • The remuneration is in accordance with the Swiss SNF regulations (annual gross salary of CHF 47'140 - 50'040). Earliest starting date is March 2023 and the position is for 18 months. After the laboratory part of the DVM thesis is finished we offer to enter into a three year residency fellowship of the European College of Veterinary Microbiology (ECVM).
