The Institute of Veterinary Bacteriology of the University of Bern has an open position for a veterinary thesis at the Swiss National Reference Laboratory for Antimicrobial Resistance entitled:
"Optimized dosing regimens for the combinations of sulfonamides and trimethoprim in veterinary medicine"
We are looking for a flexible, enthusiastic and highly motivated DVM student to work on a European project, funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNF) in the framework of the European Joint Programming Initiative on Antimicrobial Resistance (JPIAMR). The JPIAMR project is focused on optimizing dosing levels of trimethoprim and sulfonamides in seven different animal species.
The working package that involves the DVM student concentrates on determining minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) for trimethoprim in combination with four selected sulfonamides.
The remuneration is in accordance with the Swiss SNF regulations. Earliest starting date is February 2023 and the position is for 18 months. After the laboratory part of the DVM thesis is finished we offer to enter into a three year residency fellowship of the European College of Veterinary Microbiology (ECVM).
