firms. We strive for giving success-critical impulses for business practice as well further developing strategy concepts and theories.

Our research focuses on three areas: Strategy&technology, Strategy&global contexts, and the Theory of the firm. Motivated by practical problems of corporate management, we seek for impactful solution in all our research areas (see www. simanagement.wi.tum.de). We do not only cooperate with renowned scholars at home and abroad but also with well-known corporate partners. Research results are presented at international conferences as well as transferred to business practice.

Previous doctoral candidates of Professor Hutzschenreuter are today executives in multinational enterprises, international strategy consultancies, private equity companies and work for international business schools.

    Working field:

Professor Hutzschenreuter intensively supports you on your research project. You will work along a structured project plan with clear milestones for each semester. As part of the doctoral studies at TUM Graduate Center you will learn the methods of academic research and have access to opportunities of content-specific doctoral courses.

    Requirements:
  • Successfully finished studies with a focus on business and management (e.g., business administration, industrial engineering, business informatics or economics), informatics or natural sciences/engineering with an outstanding degree (resp. graduation shortly)
  • Internships or other professional experiences
  • Profound knowledge in strategic management, in finance and accounting, and programming skills are an advantage

  • Practical experiences in a relevant field are an advantage
  • What we offer:

Our doctoral study process (see www. simanagement.wi.tum.de) has a clear structure that ensures doctoral candidates can graduate after no more than three years. Candidates may pursue an internal doctorate (employed by TUM, salary according to the level TV-L E13), or an external doctorate, sufficient presence at TUM according to TUM guidelines having to be guaranteed. As an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer, TUM explicitly encourages applications from women as well as from all others who would bring additional diversity dimensions to the university's research and teaching strategies. Preference will be given to disabled candidates with essentially the same qualifications.

    How to apply:

We are looking forward to receiving your complete application (cover letter, CV, A-levels certificate or equivalent, certificates/transcripts of records of Bachelor's and Master's degree, work and internship reference letters). Please hand in all documents in a single PDF-file to [email protected] First round successful applicants will be asked to hand in a short exposé (1-3 pages) in which you link your research interest to one of the chair's research projects (see www. simanagement.wi.tum.de) or to a self-selected topic and outline ideas which you would like to do research on.
