We are seeking an ambitious and skilled doctoral student to join the Centre for Pharmacoepidemiology (CPE) at the Department of Medicine, Solna, KI. CPE was established in 2005 and has become a dynamic research environment at the intersection of academia, healthcare, regulatory authorities, and the pharmaceutical industry. CPE is one of the largest academic pharmacoepidemiology centres in Europe, with active Nordic, European, and international collaborations. We are about 20 employees and a number of affiliated researchers, including epidemiologist, clinicians, statisticians, project coordinators, postdoctoral researchers, and doctoral students. Under the main supervision of Carolyn Cesta, Ph.D., the doctoral student will receive high quality doctoral education and research experience within the fields of reproductive/perinatal pharmacoepidemiology. CPE has decades of experience in these research areas is involved in several national, Nordic, and international studies focusing on medication use during pregnancy and the benefits and consequences for mother and child.The doctoral student project and the duties of the doctoral student
The doctoral project will focus on pharmacoepidemiological methods to evaluate medication use in reproductive-aged and pregnant women, and maternal and infant health consequences using linked data from the Swedish national health and population registers. The student will be involved in all parts of the project, ranging from contributing to the study protocol and study design, management of data from large population-based registers, statistical data analysis, writing scientific publications, and disseminating the results. The doctoral student is expected to participate in activities related to research at CPE and in educational activities offered in the Clinical Epidemiology Division (KEP) and Karolinska Institutet.What do we offer?

The successful applicant will be self-motivated, have excellent written and oral communications skills, and be able to work independently and within a team. We are particularly interested in candidates with a background in public/reproductive health and clinical experience with pregnant women (e.g., midwifery, obstetrics). Part-time doctoral work is possible.
