Campus Group T Leuven is an international campus of KU Leuven providing
education, research and services in Engineering Technology. It is part of the
Science and Technology Group. Its bachelor, master and doctoral programs in
Engineering Technology combine a broad scientific and technological education
with a pronounced focus on applications and implementation. Group T Leuven

part of the Faculty of Engineering Technology with branches in Aalst, Bruges,
Diepenbeek, Geel, Ghent, Leuven and Sint-Katelijne-Waver.

Responsibilities
You will conduct research on wearable activity monitoring for older
adults. You set up studies with end users and stakeholders. You build a
network with non-profit and industry partners. You collaborate on project
applications to fund follow-up projects.
You teach and are co-responsible for course units within the bachelor and
master programs in engineering technology and postgraduate programs at
Campus Group T of KU Leuven. These course units are mainly situated within
the field of ICT and computer programming.
You work together with the coordinator of the course units involved and in
cross-campus cooperation with the teaching team involved.
You develop the necessary study material, keep it up to date. You keep
your knowledge of your own field and new forms of work up to date and
monitor the link with current scientific research. These assignments are
in both Dutch and English.
You supervise students, give them feedback and evaluate them.
You coach junior practice assistants, PhD students with teaching
assignments, and student assistants.
You play a role in the public relations of the program. You participate in
various events such as information days, open business day, science
popularization, visits of foreign delegations, SID-ins, ...
Profile
You have a PhD in computer science or equivalent, more specifically in the
area of human-computer interaction.
You have experience with user-centered design processes, preferably with
vulnerable populations.
You have experience with wearable sensors to measure physical activity,
and with the necessary data analysis.
You have relevant teaching experience, more specifically in computer
programming. You have already taken on significant teaching
responsibilities.
Offer
We offer a full-time position as a doctor-assistant (scale 44) until the end
of the 2023-2024 academic year.
