    Core Facility Head – Cytometry for a full-time, four-year position (must hold a Diploma/Master's degree) or six- year position (must hold a Doctorate/Ph.D. degree) at the Centre for Medical Research (ZMF) at the Faculty of Medicine of the Johannes Kepler University Linz

    Job Duties:

  • Management of the Core Facility Cytometry
  • Support the management of the Centre of Medical Research (ZMF) in the development of the organizational and operational structure of CF Cytometry in the teaching and research centers of the Faculty of Medicine
  • Collaboration in the development and adaptation of CF Cytometry concepts (rules of procedure, use, personnel, procurement, service/maintenance etc.)
  • Establishment, management and organisational handling of the Core Facility Cytometry, in particular in the areas of
  • Procurement, service/maintenance of the equipment park
  • Clear positioning of the CF by offering the technological possibilities
  • Establishing analytical innovations and international developments
  • Education and training of researchers working at the ZMF
  • Equipment support including providing services (e.g. sample preparation, settings, safety)
  • Networking of CF Cytometry with the Core Facilities and the working groups at the ZMF, as well as with local, national and international institutions (establishment of international cooperation and networks)
  • Continuous education and teaching in the field of cytometry
  • Your Qualifications:

  • The successful candidate must hold a Diploma/Master's degree or a Doctorate Ph.D. degree in biology, biotechnology, medicine, biochemistry or related field
  • Many years of knowledge and extensive experience with complex sorting and analytical cytometry – including sample preparation and sound knowledge of relevant software tools

  • Evidence of relevant publications

  • Analytical and goal-oriented approach
  • Strong interpersonal skills as well as self-motivation and enjoyment of dedicated teamwork
  • Enjoyment of providing services and interest in independent research or development of methods and procedures in the field
  • Strong command of German and English (both oral and written, German level C2, English level B2)
  • What We Offer:

  • On the basis of full-time employment (40 hours/week) the minimum salary in accordance with the collective agreement is € 3,058.60 gross per month holding a Diploma/Master's degree and € 4,061.50 gross per month holding a Doctorate/Ph.D. degree (14 x per year, CA Job Grade: B1)
