A call is open to one research position, according with the law D.L. n.º 57/2016, of August 29th, updated by the law n.º 57/2017, July 19th, to develop research activities within the IC&TD Project “Evaluate the effectiveness and effects of ultraviolet light‐emitting diodes for food production, preservation, and microbiological safety”, reference: 2022.01340.PTDC, financed by European Founds and Comissão Diretiva do Programa Operacional Regional de Lisboa , n.º 1 article 20.º, Decreto-Lei n.º 159/2014, October 27, Decreto-Lei nº 215/2015, October 6th and Orçamento de Estado, Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia , I.P. (FCT, I.P.).

Admission criteria:

General requirements

Any national, foreigner and stateless candidate(s) holding a PhD degree in Biology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or similar areas.

Experience in supervision of degree and master students.

Experience in writing scientific reports, manuscripts, and projects, as well as in oral and poster presentations.

Fluency in English.

Specific requirements

Experience in food safety and quality; knowledge and hands on experience in food disinfection by photolysis and mechanisms of inactivation.

Experience in classical microbiology, molecular biology, flow cytometry, fluorescence microscopy and sample preparation for analysis by scanning electron microscopy.

Contract and category:

The contracting is carried out by means of a work contract under the terms of the Portuguese Labour Code, for individuals holding a Doctoral Degree, corresponding to Level 33 of the single remuneration table (TRU), in accordance with Decree-Law no. 11-A /2017, of December 29.
