  • 13 PhD positions are available in the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Doctoral Network “MIRELAI - MIcroelectronics RELiability driven by Artificial Intelligence”. MIRELAI is the first European Industrial Doctorate Programme that trains researchers for the next generation of reliable microelectronics, more precisely electronic components and systems (ECS). MIRELAI unites world- class academic and industrial excellence along the electronics system value chain.

    The consortium includes 8 industries, 4 SMEs and 9 research organisations and academic institutions from 7 European countries: Polymer Competence Center Leoben GmBH, Politecnico di Milano, Technische Universität Chemnitz, Delft University of Technology, VZW Interuniversitair Micro-Electronica Centrum, ams AG, AT & S Austria Technologie & Systemtechnik AG, Robert Bosch GmbH, Berliner Nanotest und Design GmbH, Nexperia BV, NXP Semiconductors N.V., Reden B.V, Siemens Industry Software NV, Technoprobe S.p.A., University of Greenwich, Materials Consultancy Services Ltd., accelopment Schweiz AG, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Montanuniversität Leoben, Materials Center Leoben Forschung GmbH, Signify N.V.

    Shared hosting and joint supervision by the industry and academia of each of the 13 doctoral candidates ensures optimal knowledge transfer.

  • The Doctoral Candidate will receive an attractive salary in accordance with the MSCA regulations. The financial package will include: 1) Living allowance of €3,400 (country correction coefficient applies), 2) Mobility allowance of €600, 3) Family allowance (€660), if applicable. The exact (net) salary will be confirmed upon appointment and is dependent on local tax, social and health insurance regulations and on the country correction factor
  • Eligibility criteria

    Specific Eligibility Criteria on the Horizon Europe: Marie Skłodowska-Curie (MSCA) programme apply, including the mobility rule and PhD rules. Applicants of any nationality are welcome.

  • MSCA mobility rule: researchers must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of the host organisation for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately before the recruitment date.
  • PhD rule: Supported researchers must be doctoral candidates, i.e., not already in possession of a doctoral degree at the date of the recruitment.
  • Additionally, PhD applicants must fulfil the local requirements of the recruiting institutions listed in the project website.

    Specific Requirements

    Since all projects are carried out in collaboration with other groups of the MIRELAI consortium, visits to their premises are expected during the project (planned mobility assignments). A willingness to travel and spend time abroad is therefore essential.
