Human Hematopoietic Stem Cell Research In a highly innovative, dynamic and supporting environment, this position will allow individuals interested in stem cell aging to become an integral part of our research group. Our research focuses on investigating aging of human hematopoietic stem cells and aging of their environment called the niche using a highly interdisciplinary approach, e.g., combining tissue engineering/organoids, confocal microscopy and bioinformatics. The position is a part of the new Collaborative Research Center 1506 “Aging at Interfaces”: https: // www. uni-ulm.de/einrichtungen/sfb-1506-aging-at-interfaces/.

We are interested in recruiting self-motivated individuals with a desire to further strengthen the internationally competitive research activities of the recruiting laboratory. PhD student will be embedded within the International Graduate School in Molecular Medicine of Ulm University (IGradU).

Your profile:
  • Master in a relevant discipline (life science)
  • Robust experience in molecular biology. The project will involve genome editing, mouse experiments, cell culture, confocal microscopy, flow cytometry
  • Experience in RNA-seq data analysis, stem cell research and tissue engineering are a plus
  • The ability to work within a young and international group of scientists

  • Communication skills with fluency in the English language
